Singapore scientists are going to launch the first manned balloon for the first time, which will leave a man in the stratosphere, – said the head of developer In.Genius company Lim Sen. In addition, he noted that the candidate had already been selected for the flight – the authors of the idea had to choose the best of the twenty-six pilots who submitted applications for participation in the experiment.
According to the idea, the pilot will fly in a stratosphere – a special capsule attached to a giant balloon . The capsule will maintain a stable pressure and air temperature within 25-17 degrees Celsius. This will help the pilot to overcome the altitude of 19200 meters above sea level – without special equipment at such an altitude a person can boil blood.
The project was intended to be implemented by the fiftieth anniversary of the state's formation in 2015, but something went wrong, the company did not have time to complete the development of the stratosphere and obtain permission to fly in the Civil Aviation Administration. A year later, the developers launched a test unmanned capsule with a ball, and later sent to the stratosphere of mice, who spent almost an hour and a half there. Now came the turn of the pilot. It is expected that the start will take place near the Australian city of Alice Springs. The cost of the project specialists estimated at 7.6 million dollars.
